白银区是白银市政府所在地,位于甘肃中部,距省会兰州86公里。全区总面积1372平方公里,其中耕地面积15.9万亩,有效灌溉面积7.83万亩;总人口24.31万人,其中城市人口16.79万人;全区下设人民路、公园路、四龙路、工农路4个街道办事处和王岘乡、四龙乡、水川乡、武川乡、强湾乡五个乡,共有134个居民委员会、42个村民委员会。217个村民小组,居住着汉、回、满、蒙、藏、东乡、裕固等12个民族,其中少数民族占全区总人口的2％。
