民工建勤工作,国务院早在1955年就有明确指示。为了适应国民经济发展的需要,更好地支援农业,巩固提高路况,降低养护成本,的确是意义深远。过去,我们虽然曾经组织民工建勤工作,但缺乏周密计划,又缺乏具体组织办法所以组织后成效不大。自今年二月湖南省人民委员会又作了关于这方面的指示,我们才把这一工作提到党委的议事日程上来。在地委的领导下依靠人民群众,在三月到五月底止的两个多月内,全区完成了民工建勤砂石37044立方米,全区14个县、市,有6个县超额完成了任务。经过检查验收,规格、质量基本符合要求。此外,还清除了坍方7869立方米,整修路肩30442平方米,清挖水沟52960米。这一工作的蓬勃开展,不仅对提高好路率起着作用,减少了国家今年投资16万元,而且
