史密斯学院(Smith College)位于马萨诸塞州的北安普顿,始建于一八七一年,是美国女子学院中最早开设美术课程的院校之一。一八八二年,学院建立了美术系。一年后,在本地商人温思罗普·希利尔(Winthrop Hilyer,公元一八○三～一八八三年)的赞助下,建立了学院第一座美术馆(初名希利尔美术馆)。
Founded in 1871 in Northampton, Massachusetts, Smith College is one of the earliest U.S. art institutes to offer art programs. In 1882, the college established an art department.
