Patients treated with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) have a very low rate of sudden death, and some have suggested that medication is outdated. This article reviews the results of comparing and not using ICDs. 282 patients with arrhythmia in coronary heart disease, of which 214 cases of sustained ventricular tachycardia, 68 cases of ventricular fibrillation, no acute myocardial infarction, irreversible causes such as electrolyte imbalance and drug-induced arrhythmias.
