1900年爆发的义和团运动,是中华民族与帝国主义的矛盾激化的产物,在中国近代史上具有重要的地位。因为义和团运动是一次以农民群众为主体的反帝爱国运动,也是一次抗击八国联军侵略的民族自卫战争,它显示了中国人民的巨大力量,阻止和打乱了帝国主义列强瓜分中国的狂妄计划。因此它就成为中国旧民主主义革命历史阶段的一个重要组成部分,它表现了广大的中国人民不甘屈服、勇于反抗帝国主义的精神。
The Boxers’ movement that broke out in 1900 was a product of the intensification of the contradictions between the Chinese nation and imperialism and played an important role in the modern history of China. Because the Yihetuan Movement is an anti-imperialist and patriotic movement with the peasant masses as its main body and a national self-defense war against the aggression of the G-8 troops, it shows the tremendous power of the Chinese people and prevents and upsets the arrogant plan of the imperialist powers to divide China. Therefore, it has become an important part of the historical stage of China’s old-democratic revolution. It shows the spirit of the broad masses of Chinese who are willing to resist and surrender to imperialism.
