At present, the research on “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” is mostly conducted from the angle of historical culture, linguistic rhetoric or figure analysis. However, “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” also has a very high philosophical and aesthetical value. Taking the concept of “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” as a background, using the Western concept of accepting aesthetics, this paper examines the acceptance of literature in the Wei and Jin Dynasties from the perspective of reader reaction criticism The research will be of great value. It provides another perspective for our study of ancient literature, and enables us to reveal more deeply the characteristics and development laws of the acceptance of literature during this period.
