On May 25, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine sent experts of traditional Chinese medicine to the earthquake-stricken areas to learn about the mental health of the general public, establish psychological and professional support channels in Beijing and the disaster areas, and make long-term preparations for training psychological professionals in the disaster-stricken areas. The decisions of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the effective work of the psychologists of traditional Chinese medicines have received unanimous praise from the new secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Lu Hao and the victims. TCM psychiatrist and the deputy director of Guang’anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Wang Weidong arrived at the disaster area and led the students of TCM psychology at Chengdu University of TCM to form a temporary psychological assistance team and went deep into Sichuan.
