RU486 has anti-progestin function in all mammalian trials. Luteal phase of non-pregnant women given this drug can interrupt the menstrual cycle. Pregnant women in the amenorrhea before the first seven weeks of this medicine can interrupt pregnancy. If less than 42 days amenorrhea it can interrupt 80% of the pregnancy, greater than 42 days its efficacy decreased significantly.
