南非艾滋病项目研究中心的科学家与美国同行在最新一期《自然》杂志上报告说,他们发现了可以杀死艾滋病病毒的有效抗体,有望在此基础上研制出艾滋病疫苗。研究人员在南非一名女性艾滋病患者的血液中发现了这种被称为“中和抗体”的有效抗体,并在实验室中通过克隆技术成功复制了这种抗体。随后,科学家又通过一系列实验,弄清了这名妇女的免疫系统制造出这种抗体的途径。人类感染艾滋病后,通过体内产生抗体来抗击艾滋病病毒。大部分抗体不能中和或杀死艾滋病病毒的不同毒株。但在少数案例中,会出现广谱中和抗体,它能穿透艾滋病病毒的保护层,从而杀死病毒。
In a recent issue of Nature, scientists at the South African AIDS Project Research Center and their American counterparts reported that they found an effective antibody to kill the AIDS virus, on the basis of which AIDS vaccine could be developed. Researchers found the antibody, known as a “neutralizing antibody,” in the blood of a female AIDS patient in South Africa and successfully replicated the antibody in the laboratory by cloning. Subsequently, scientists through a series of experiments, to clarify the woman’s immune system to create such antibodies. After human being gets infected with AIDS, it can fight the AIDS virus by producing antibodies in the body. Most antibodies can not neutralize or kill different strains of HIV. In a few cases, however, there is a broad spectrum of neutralizing antibodies that can penetrate the protective layer of HIV and kill the virus.
