中国改革开放以来,截至2005年,全国入境旅游总人数累计达12.39亿人次,入境过夜旅游者累计4.9亿人次,旅游外汇收入累计达2193亿美元。据统计,1978～2005年28年间,中国年入境旅游总人数由181万人次增至1.2亿人次,累计达12.39亿人次,增长了66倍,年均增长近17%。其中外国人由23万人次增至2025万人次,港澳台同胞由158万人次增至1亿人次,年均增长分别为18%和17%。入境过夜旅游者由72万人次增长到4681万人次,累计4.9亿人次,增长了65倍,年均增长17%。旅游外汇收入由2.63亿美元提高到293亿美元,累计2193亿美元,
Since China’s reform and opening up, as of 2005, the total number of inbound tourist destinations nationwide has reached 1.299 billion, with a total of 490 million tourists overnight and a total of 219.3 billion U.S. dollars of foreign exchange earnings from tourism. According to statistics, from 1978 to 2005, the total number of inbound tourists entering China increased from 1.81 million to 120 million in a total of 1.289 billion people, a 66-fold increase with an average annual increase of nearly 17%. Among them, foreigners increased from 230,000 to 20.25 million and compatriots from Hong Kong, Maucao and Macao increased from 1.58 million to 100 million with an average annual increase of 18% and 17% respectively. The number of overnight tourists who entered the country increased from 72 million to 46.81 million, a total of 490 million, an increase of 65 times, an average annual increase of 17%. Foreign exchange income from tourism increased from 263 million U.S. dollars to 29.3 billion U.S. dollars, with a total of 219.3 billion U.S. dollars.
