从紫砂壶诞生的明代开始,紫砂装饰就已出现。紫砂壶“花货”从壶身到壶嘴的多部位皆有采用仿生原理制作的;“光货”与“筋囊器”则是通过立体线条对紫砂进行装饰,此点现今也成为鉴别与考量一把紫砂器物优劣的标准。除了壶体自身的紫砂装饰外,另有几项技术,于外在对古朴、淡雅的紫砂器进行装饰。
