期刊是当今世界上作为记载、传播和交流人类科学文化成果的三种出版物类型(报纸、期刊、书籍)之一。文学期刊是诸种期刊中的一个门类。而所谓地市文学期刊,目前一般是指我国的中等城市或地区一级有关部门所创办的文学期刊。这里之所以要特别谈到地市文学期刊,主要是因为它在近几年里,不但如雨后春笋,数量剧增,而且由于它以较大的版面发表通俗文学,造成了它在覆盖面和发行量方面的优势。笔者认为,这是一个出版界不容回避令人深思的客观存在。面对这一客观存在,探讨和研究地市文学期刊编辑方向的问题便显得愈来愈迫切、
