Yunnan Seismological Bureau held a symposium on “Astronomy, Meteorology and Earthquake” in Kunming from October 21 to 24, 1984. Nearly 50 representatives from Yunnan Province and all over the country attended the meeting. Deputy Director of Earthquake Administration of Yunnan Province Jiang Kui delivered an opening speech. At the meeting, Xu Daoyi gave an academic report titled “Several Patterns and Hypotheses about the Relationship between the Milky Way Movement and the Geological Phenomenon and the Relationship between the Uranus and the Earth,” Ren Renqiu made an academic report titled “Some Statistical Facts about Astronomy and Earthquakes”, and Geng Qingguo
