2009年,江苏省南通市以全国地级市第2名的优异成绩被中央文明委表彰为第二批全国文明城市,昂首跨入了全国文明先进城市行列。创建全国文明城市工作是一个动态的、长期的过程,把南通建设成为更高水平的全国文明城市,需要长期不懈的努力。在南通文明城市创建的大潮中,两万多名生活在南通的少数民族同胞主动配合,积极参与创建。主城区的很多少数民族同胞更是在社区少数民族服务中心的组织和引领下,把学习牛街经验转化为自觉行动,通过身体力行,带动身边的人投身文明市民的行列,成为一支文明创建的“新军”。
In 2009, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, ranked second in China’s prefecture-level cities, was honored as the second batch of national civilized cities by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CMA) and heads into the ranks of the advanced civilized cities nationwide. Creating a civilized city in the whole country is a dynamic and long-term process that will make Nantong a higher-level national civilized city and require long-term and unrelenting efforts. In the tide of the Nantong Civilization City, more than 20,000 compatriots from ethnic minorities living in Nantong took the initiative to cooperate and actively participated in the founding. Many ethnic minority compatriots in the main urban area, even under the organization and leadership of community service centers for minority nationalities, have turned learning from Niujie experience into a conscious action. By doing so, they have led those around them to join the ranks of civilized citizens and become civilized “New Army ”.
