The author, Narayana Young Jan Das, of the United Kingdom, points out that this movement from 1957 to 1958 is different from the political movements that the Chinese Communist Party previously conducted. The fight is not directed at just one person, but basically For the intelligentsia, virtually all the people are reluctantly involved in a major debate to distinguish between “big deal and non-deal.” The book is divided into five chapters, analyzing the ideological, political and cultural roots of the movement in the 1950s in China, introducing the then rightists and their views, and tracing back the development process of the Anti-Rightist Movement from beginning to end. Due to material limitations, the author focused his attention on the differences between the official and the right, stressing on the personal role of our leaders in this movement, but also on the impact of the country’s political and economic conditions at the time. In particular, the book displays a series of information on the anti-rightist movement, such as a list of 88 key members of the Zhang Lo League, a list of self-reviewers in the NPC, a list of 100 big-right factions and speech writings, Research undoubtedly has a considerable reference value.
