1900年左右的欧洲,女权运动势成燎原,不少女性集结起来,在公共领域里勇敢地提出自己在政治、经济权利上的诉求,进而推动了更多女性独立意识的觉醒,如此一股热潮在根本上改变了女性的普遍生存状态和个人发展机会。而在艺术界,这种改变则体现为一个更为自信、独立和富于创新力的女艺术家群体的出现。女权运动为她们追求艺术人生赢得了生长空间,女权运动的独立自由精神更融入了她们在现代艺术道路上的积极探索。在此,我们选择了一系列以1900年左右生活在德国慕尼黑的女艺术家为核心的回忆文章,再现当年女权运动与女艺术家创作活动之间的密切联系。作为该系列的压轴之选,凯特·珂勒惠支(Kaethe Kollwitz)是其中最特殊的一位,她对当时社会现实的尖锐批判,她极具表现力的版画创作,对中国近几十年的文化、艺术产生了深远的影响。我们通过该系列,凝视现代艺术发展史中这个特殊的横断面,并希望藉此激发更多关于性别、社会、文化和艺术的互动关系的思考。
In the period around 1900, the feminist movement became a prairie firewood. Many women came together in a brave manner in the public sphere to raise their political and economic rights demands and further promote the awakening of more women’s independent consciousness. Fundamentally changed the status of women’s general survival and personal development opportunities. In the art world, this change is reflected in the emergence of a more assertive, independent and creative female artist community. The feminist movement won the space for their pursuit of artistic life, and the independent and free spirit of the feminist movement integrated their active exploration in the modern art. Here, we have selected a series of memoirs focusing on women artists living in Munich, Germany, around 1900, to illustrate the close relationship between the feminist movement and the female artists’ creative activities of that year. As the finale of the series, Kaethe Kollwitz is one of the most special one. She criticized the social reality at that time sharply, and her expressive printmaking was of great significance to China in recent decades Culture, art has had a profound impact. Through this series, we gaze at this particular cross-section of the history of modern art and hope to inspire more thinking about the interactive relationship between gender, society, culture and the arts.
