据陈氏几种宗谱相互印证,相传北宋阆中三陈的远祖经历过河南淮阳—河南颍川—浙江长兴—江西太和—湖南新化的迁徙。其直系先祖为定居湖南新化的陈万。其高祖陈翔授博州刺史未随祖父入湘,遂有“其先为博州人”之说;陈翔随王建护熹宗入蜀,遂为三陈直系入川始祖。
