Mission File Mission Execution: Antoine D’Agata, documentary photographer. Born in Marseille, France, D’Agata began his career as a photography student in New York and joined Magnum Photos in 2004. Mission: “Be a photographer who has never lost faith in life.” Mission Location: Antoine D’Agata is currently filmed in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, but the world is where he works. MISSION EQUIPMENT: Antoine D’Agata loves to keep changing equipment for freshness - his goal is to keep only the minimum amount of equipment needed to meet his photography needs. I’ve lived in an obscene world. In this world, men expose their ugly face as much as they can and women confirm their courage; almost every act in this abominable world tells of instinct or cruel rules of survival. When these things are not controlled by the government, the fragile moral system is disintegrated and the price of substitution is the birth of illegitimate transactions that are hard to tell and tolerate.
