陈力丹著《马克思主义新闻学词典》于2002年1月由中国广播电视出版社出版。该书以词条的形式,全面、客观地阐述了马克思主义新闻理论的主要观点,马克思主义新闻和宣传工作史中的主要媒体、人物、事件。以时间前后为序,围绕马克思和恩格斯、列宁及其他国际共运领袖、中国共产党的老一代领导人毛泽东、刘少奇、周恩来、邓小平等等,以及在任的江泽民等关于新闻、宣传工作的思想观点和不同时期的政策展开。全书30万字,共530条。 他的《世界新闻传播史》于2002年5月由上海交大出版社出版。该书分为七篇二十一章,37.5万字。第一篇论述了世界新闻传播的宏观历史,其他六篇分别论述了各大洲或大的区域内各
