This case is an exquisite residence located in the foothills of Santa Catarina Mountain in Tucson. The designer’s aim is to transform this home into a refined, elegant and tranquil, cozy living space, providing a shelter for owners busy with fashion. Originally built in 1935, the residence was designed by the Swiss-born architect Josias Joesler. Joesler is best known for designing the first residential district in the foothills of Santa Catarina. Located on the Rillito River and Santa Catarina Hill, the plot covers an area of almost 2,832 hectares and was designed and co-designed by Joesler and developer John Murphy. Not only were these homes exceptionally bulky, the wealthy Californians often served as vacation houses during the year, these buildings were the hallmarks of that era. The 481-square-meter residential complex, part of the district, stands in nearly two hectares of lush, desert-like deserts.
