1993年6月10日,全国最年轻的孝昌县在鄂北重镇花园正式挂牌了。全县国土总面积为1201平方公里,辖12个乡镇,人口58.5万,位于大别山脉西南端、澴水河中游,系鄂东北山区与江汉平原的结合带。其辖区北与广水市、大悟县毗邻,南与孝南区接壤。东、西两面分别与黄陂县、安陆市相连。自公元454年以来,在长达1500多年的漫长岁月里,孝昌县始终作为原孝感县(后为市)的一部分,为人类的文明进步作出过不可磨灭的贡献。特别是在党领导下的新民主主义革命斗争中,孝昌县人民谱写的历史篇章更是威武雄壮、熠熠生辉。
June 10, 1993, Xiaochang County, the youngest in the country, is officially listed in the garden of northern Hubei. The county a total area of 1201 square kilometers, jurisdiction over 12 towns and villages, population 585,000, located in the southwest end of the Dabie Mountains, the middle reaches of the Huangshui River, Department of Northeast Hubei and Jianghan Plain with the combination of belt. The area north of Guangshui City, Dawu County adjacent to the South and Xiaonan District bordering. East and West, respectively, with Huangpi County, Anlu City. Since AD 454, for as long as 1500 years, Xiaochang County has always made an indelible contribution to the progress of human civilization as a part of Xiaogan County (later the city). Especially in the new-democratic revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the party, the historical chapter written by the people of Xiaochang County is even more magnificent and powerful.
