Those of us who work in the field of professional news coverage are required every day to spread news about everything from new products through to upcoming and “must-do” events or seminars. Our role is to filter information, which means we’ll say “no” most of the time. However, at the recent National Instruments Week, Dean Kamen, founder of DEKA Research and Development and Segway inventor, pleaded for help in spreading the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) organization, which he founded in 1989 The organization.
