Objective: To investigate the clearance of uric acid in the intestine of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and to explore the possible mechanism of abnormal uric acid metabolism in these patients. Methods: Forty patients with normal control group, 30 patients with coronary heart disease (15 with elevated serum uric acid and 15 with normal serum uric acid level) were enrolled in this study. The hematological parameters of all subjects were collected, The colorimetric method detects in vitro the uric acid content in its stool. Results: The amount of uric acid decomposed by bacteria in 1 g of stool was significantly higher in patients with coronary heart disease with normal blood uric acid level (P <0.05). Patients with coronary heart disease with elevated serum uric acid level were also higher than those without the control There was no significant difference between the two subgroups of coronary heart disease. Serum triglyceride levels in patients with coronary heart disease were significantly higher than those in healthy people (P <0.05), while those in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol group were significantly lower than those in healthy controls (P <0.01). Serum total bilirubin: coronary heart disease serum total bilirubin levels were lower than the normal control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: The metabolic activity of uric acid in the intestine of patients with coronary heart disease is higher than that in normal people. Intestinal tract plays an important role in the abnormal metabolism of uric acid in patients with coronary heart disease. The antioxidant capacity of patients with coronary heart disease is lower than that of normal people.
