如何丰富和完善军事理论学科教学的内容、提高军事理论学科教学的质量成为高校军事理论教学和国防教育教学的重中之重。新修订的《普通高等学校军事课教学大纲》出台标志现阶段普通高等学校的军事理论教学步入全新的阶段。在以往的军事理论教学经验积累基础上,军事理论教学方法虽然有所改进,但是教学内容的革新和教学质量的提升却不明显,学生学习军事理论学科的热情未发现很大变化,导致教学质量效果不甚理想,其中主要原因是教学内容枯燥、乏味,很难让学生产生浓厚兴趣,教学过程中,教师未能联系实际丰富授课内容,照本宣科,达不到预期的教学效果。要丰富教学内容、提高教学质量,就要从根本上解决问题的所在,提升教师的教育观念首当其冲。然后改进教育教学方法,创新教育方式方法。最后细化和丰富教学过程,探究教学的实效性,让学生发自内心地想学习军事理论知识,思想与国防教育和国防建设接轨。因此,在实施素质教育的新形势下,深入探讨丰富军事理论教学内容和提高课堂教学质量的方法很有必要。
