改革开放以来,中国社会发生了剧烈变革,党在新时期增强自身执政基础也就面临着一系列全新挑战。面对这些新形势和挑战,我们党在计划经济时代所形成的某些观念和体制机制已经不再适应新的形势下增强党的执政基础的需要,要求我们重新进行思考和认识。今天,党要加强自身的执政基础,就必须遵循实事求是的原则,解放思想,与时俱进地进行某些观念和体制的转变。
Since the reform and opening up, drastic changes have taken place in Chinese society. The party faces a series of brand-new challenges as it strengthens its own governing foundation in the new era. Faced with these new situations and challenges, some of our party’s concepts and institutional mechanisms formed in the era of planned economy are no longer suited to the needs of strengthening the party’s ruling foundation under the new situation, and require us to rethink our thinking and understanding. Today, the party must strengthen its own ruling foundation and must abide by the principle of seeking truth from facts, emancipate the mind and make changes to certain concepts and systems with the times.
