三峡工程右岸茅坪溪防护工程由防护大坝和泄水建筑物组成。泄水建筑物已通过阶段性验收并已通水运行。该项工程系由长委会三峡右岸监理总站下属的茅坪溪防护工程监理站担任监理工作。监理系采用主动控制为主、被动控制为辅两种手段相结合的动态控制方法，进行全面、全方位、全过程的跟踪监理。在工程质量控制中，始终坚持质量第一，建立了较完整的质量管理制度和控制程序。在施工进度控制中，监理站与施工单位密切配合，结合现场施工条件，提出了一些优化设计的建议，既减少工程量，又加快了施工进度。在监理工作中始终坚持实事求是、公正清廉的作风，搞好工程支付及合同管理等方面工作，维护了业主和承包商的利益。
