1986年湖南省卫生厅、省教委为了改革和加强农村卫生工作,加快全省农村卫生队伍的建设,打通卫技人员输往农村的道路,在对全省34所县卫生进修学校进行逐一考核的基础上,将他们改办成了县中等卫生职业学校,当年就开设了乡村医士专业,开始为农村(主要是村一级)系统地培养合格的卫生技术人员。经过6年的辛勤努力,县中等卫生职业学校在完善办学条件,充实师资,加强管理,提高质量的过程中,已有三批学生毕业,在全省农村挑起了防病治病的重担,受到广
In 1986, the Hunan Provincial Department of Health and the Provincial Board of Education intensified the construction of the rural health team in order to reform and strengthen rural health work, opened up the road for health workers to rural areas, and conducted assessments of health education schools in 34 counties across the province. On the basis of this, they were converted into county-level secondary health vocational schools, and rural heal professionals were established that year and systematically trained qualified health technicians for rural areas (mainly at the village level).
