8月初,儿子一家回国探亲,我目不转睛地盯着机场出口处,搜索着他们的身影。啊,来了来了!可怎么搞的?儿子两手空空,儿媳身背小挎包,八岁不到的孙子却又背又提又推行李箱。更让我吃惊的是刚满四岁的小孙女左手拎袋,右手还推着行李箱。“Karl、Emily,奶奶在这。”听到我的呼唤,两个小不点扔下箱子、袋子喊着:“奶奶!奶奶!”向我扑来,可刚跑几步又不约而同地返回去各自推着自己的箱子。看到他们那吃力的样子,我真恨不得跑过去帮一把,可隔着栏杆进不去呀,想要儿子儿媳帮帮忙,可他们正微笑着向托运行李处走去。好不容易等到孙子孙女走出栏杆,我一下子把他们拥进怀里,一个劲地问:“累不累?怎么不要妈妈、爸爸推箱子?”“不累。”兄妹俩答得很干脆。“推这么大的箱子也不累呀?”“不累,我的箱子不大,只是比妹妹的大一点点。”孙子回答说。小孙女既不说累也不说不累,只是歪着头看看哥哥的箱子又看看自己的,也许是在比较到底谁的箱子大,也许是她真累了而不好意思说出口。“你们真能干,真是两个了不起的乖宝宝!”“奶奶,我已经上小学了,自己的东西应该自己拿!”“奶奶,我满四岁了,我也自己拿。”“好呀,自己的东西自己拿,奶奶赞成。”“妈妈爸爸也赞成呀!”小孙子补充着。
