杜威说过“儿童有调查和探究本能”。孩子们天生爱探索,对许多事物感兴趣,教师要开发和利用幼儿感兴趣的事物和想要探究的问题。社会的发展、科学的进步和教育的改革,以及人们对科学的动态认识,使得幼儿科学教育已受到相当的重视,与其他教学活动相比较,幼儿科学教育更注重让幼儿了解事物之间的关系,更强调幼儿的亲自参与和幼儿动手操作,它主张让幼儿通过自身与周围物质世界的相互作用,获得经验。
