1980年炎夏,魏明伦创作的川剧《易胆大》在四川上演,一时轰动蓉城,吸引着广大观众。素与川剧无缘的青年男女,纷纷踊跃购票。单自贡市川剧团上演此剧就达150多场次。场场满座,赞声不绝。今年10月,自贡市川剧团又将魏明伦根据小说《许茂和他的女儿们》改编的川剧《四姑娘》,带来北京参加文化部主办的戏曲现代戏汇演。《四姑娘》犹如一朵芬芳淡雅的小花,香溢京城,受到领导同志和广大观众的好评和赞赏。这两出戏为何如此卖座?魏明伦有哪些经验和体会?带着这些问题,我走访了他。
