67岁的美国哥伦比亚大学物理系教授李政道虽已享有诸如诺贝尔奖获得者等许多荣誉,但他仍将当选为中国科学院外籍院士视为自己莫大的光荣。 1994年6月8日上午,中科院第七次院士大会选举外籍院士的投票活动在京西宾馆礼堂刚一结束,笔者即赶往设在中关村科学城的中国高等科学技术中心,采访了正在那里讲学的李政道教授。 上午11时15分,李政道办公室的电话铃响了,耳机里传来中科院周光召院长的声音:“中科院外籍院士选举结果刚刚出来,我荣幸地通知您,您已经当选为中科院外籍院士。您的加入,是中科院的
Li Zhengdao, a 67-year-old professor of physics at the University of Columbia, although honored with many honors such as the Nobel laureate, still considers himself elected to be a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
