中国画画家徐庶之,生于1922年。幼年读私塾时便喜好民间绘画,后来因家境所迫即以绘画谋生。1946年在宝鸡举行个人画展后,始在赵望云门下学画,直至建国之初参加工作。画家从艺,生长于民间艺术之中,走向画坛后又直接师承于近代革新派画家赵望云。这种成长过程和不同于一般的艺术道路,对他至今的整个艺术气质,都有着极为深刻的影响。他在创作中,有许多令人艳羡但又很难以说得清楚的东西,比如他的写生观察方法,他的取象、造形心理和意趣,以及构图、章法和笔墨
Xu Shu, a Chinese painter, was born in 1922. When he was young, he preferred folk painting when he read private school, and later forced to make a living by painting because of his family background. After the solo exhibition in Baoji was held in 1946, he began to study painting under Zhao Wangyun until the founding of the People’s Republic. Artists from the arts, grew up in folk art, to the painting and then directly under the auspices of the modern revolutionary painter Zhao Wangyun. This process of growth and the artistic path that is different from the general one have a profound impact on his entire artistic temperament so far.
