“十一五”时期是我区经济社会发展承前启后的关键时期。2006年是“十一五”开局之年,对于广西来说,全区上下千方百计思发展、谋发展、抓发展,全力推进以富裕广西、文化广西、生态广西、平安广西建设为中心内容的“和谐”广西的建设。作为中国西部唯一的沿海又沿边的省区,在以深入开展的西部大开发进程中,广西面临着发展区域合作的新的历史性机遇。广西是中国-东盟自由贸易区的桥头堡,以举办中国-东盟博览会为契机,实施以开发为主导的经济社会发展战略,积极加强与“泛珠三角”各方、各省区及东盟各国的全面经济合作,取得了令人瞩目的成就。特别是“M”型战略的提出,又推进了广西新一轮的快速发展。
