在发奋图强、自力更生方针的指引下,由我国自己设计、自己制造设备、自己组织施工的现代化车轮、轮箍制造工厂的第一期工程,已于1963年11月建成并一次试轧成功,现已轧出第一批国产轮箍。轧出轮箍的外形尺寸、外表质量、机械性能、低倍组织都符合设计的要求。这个工厂的机械化水平是比较高的,以轮箍部份为例:拥有一台数千吨压力的模锻水压机和相应的高压水泵房、轮箍粗轧机、精轧机、缓冷坑、自动记录温度的环形加热炉、热处理炉、矫正机以及数十台起重运输机械等。这个工厂用重达2.2吨及吨3.7的圆形断面和十二角形断面的平炉镇静钢锭做原料,经过表面清理后送
