粘合剂在涂布纸和纸板中的分布,涂布纸干燥过程粘合剂的迁移行为,对涂布纸和纸板的质量来说都是十分重要的,已经有很多工作对这一课题进行了研究。其中T·Hattula等人和A·Krishnagopalan等人采用不同方法研究涂布纸板和涂布纸中粘合剂的分布,得到很有意义的结果。T·Hattula等人采用多次反射红外技术研究丁苯胶乳在涂布纸板中的Z方向之分布,把纸板一层层地研磨下来,把研磨下来的东西收集起来压片作红外分析。A·Krishnagopalan等人用电子探针技术研究了丁苯胶乳和高岭土在涂布纸上的分布。对于上述第一种技术,似乎更适用于涂布纸板,一般的涂布纸板由于较薄而不易得出精确的结果,按照第二种技术,对所研究的胶乳必须在涂布前用OsO_4溶液处理,这就很难用来研究已经涂布好的纸页中胶乳的分布情况,此外由于用OsO_4溶液处理胶乳,这使得企图研究某一特定固合量胶乳的分布行为较为困难。
