The 8th Annual Meeting of China Society of Civil Engineering Society for Tunnels and Underground Engineering and the symposium entitled “Construction of Mountain Tunnels” was held on October 10-13, 1994 at the Tunnel Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways in Luoyang City, Henan Province, It is a large-scale academic conference of the national tunnel and underground engineering specialty once again hosted by the Society after the Seventh Annual Conference held in Beijing in May 1992.
