It is reported that about a quarter of older people over the age of 65 use a doctor’s inappropriate prescription and potentially harmful, the older, the greater the possibility of harmful reactions. British doctors’ research shows that in order to avoid this danger, elderly patients receive multiple drug treatments while reducing the risk of adverse reactions to seven safe prescriptions. Two-thirds of patients over the age of 65 take 1 or more medications daily, taking 6% more than 2 medications when taking more than 2 medications, and up to 50% for all 5 medications.
