It has been reported that the serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine [N-(p-coumaroyl) serotonin] in safflower can promote fibroblast proliferation. In order to activate various mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), the mechanism of coumarolyl serotonin-promoted cell proliferation was explored. METHODS: Diploid fibroblasts (TIG-1) derived from female fetal lungs were co-cultured with coumadioyl serotonin and epidermal growth factor (EGF) using various antibodies.
