1975年4月5日,89岁高龄的蒋介石在台湾逝世。警卫人员从收音机里听到这个消息都十分高兴,起床后,便将它告诉了毛泽东。出乎大家意料的是,毛泽东听后并没有高兴,反而一脸凝重。他对身边的人说:“知道了。”此时,没有人能理解毛泽东内心的复杂感情。更令人想不到的是,毛泽东私下为蒋介石举行了一场个人的追悼仪式。
On April 5, 1975, Chiang Kai-shek, 89, passed away in Taiwan. The guards were very happy to hear the news from the radio, and when they got up, they told Mao.
