Objective To explore the effect of self-efficacy theory in systemic education of patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into observation group (50 cases) and control group (50 cases). The control group received routine health education, and the observation group used diabetes systemic education (based on conventional health education plus disease-predictive education). The self-management performance (compliance rate) of 6 months after discharge from both groups were compared with the measured value of each index. Results The compliance rate of the observation group at 6 months after discharge was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). The indexes of the observation group at 6 months after discharge were better than those of the control group at 6 months after admission (P <0.05). Conclusion Self-efficacy theory is applied in systematic education of diabetes to enhance self-efficacy, improve patient self-management, improve patient compliance rate and improve treatment effect.
