激光科学技术获得了极其广泛的应用.比较重要的有:激光核聚变、分离同位素、激光通讯……等等.随着经济建设和地质科学的发展,出现了许多地质方面的新课题和边缘学科,于是对各种新技术的应用提出了更为宽广和更为迫切的要求.激光科学技术引入到地质科学的各个方面必将对它们产生有益的影响和很大的促进.运用新技术方法可以对一些老的课题作更加深入和实质性的研究.某些课题正面临“疑无路”的困境,使用新的技术手段就可能开辟“又一村”的新境界.目前在地质科学领域内虽然激光应用尚不够普遍,但可以确信在当前各方面的大好形势下它的发展也必然相当快速.
