A series of acrylonitrile-vinyl acetate copolymers [P (AN + VAc)] with different composition ratios were synthesized by bulk polymerization. Comparing P (AN + VAc) spectra with PAN and PVAc mixtures, some bands in the infrared spectra of the copolymers were found to change significantly, and this is explained. The component ratio of P (AN + VAc) can be quantified by the absorbance ratio of the carbonyl stretching vibration band (1740 cm -1) and the nitrile stretching vibration band (2240 cm -1) Within the variation range of components, the measurement error is less than 3%. Meanwhile, the sequence distribution of the copolymer P (AN + VAc) was calculated by measuring the shift of the wave number of the nitrile band with a measurement error of less than 3%.
