著名的医学科学家、医学教育家、泌尿外科专家和社会活动家,九三学社的杰出领导人,第八届、九届全国人民代表大会常务委员会副委员长,九三学社第九届、十届中央委员会主席,十一届名誉主席,中国科协名誉主席,中国医学科学院名誉院长,中国科学院、中国工程院资深院士,中国共产党的优秀党员吴阶平同志,因病于2011年3月2日21时18分在北京逝世,享年94岁。
