目前中国画坛中倾向于“写意画”的画家要比“工笔画”的画家少很多,因写意画的难度较大,就使得学习者要付出更多的努力,即使有较好的写实能力也未必能画出优秀的写意画作品来。以美术学院的授课可以总结,在较短的课堂训练中很难培育出成功的写意画家。经历本科四年,研究生三年的学习时间,高质量、高水平的写意画也不是随便可以画出的。比较起来,工笔画则可以在几年时间的苦练之后,取得一个较好的成绩,在全国美展中也有可能取得一席之地,但是写意画则是千难万难的。
