水中健身操是保持女性外表美的最佳运动项目之一,近几年在欧美迅速流行起来,成为女性最喜欢参加的健身活动。据统计数字表明,在美国参加健身活动的女性群体中有近30%的人选择水上健身操作为自己平时的健身方式,而仅有不足15%的人从事陆上健身操的活动。同样在欧洲水上健身操也已成为了年轻女子最喜欢的健身活动。去年美国时尚杂志记者丹尼专门采访了本年度世界选美大赛中的前3名,她们在介绍如何塑造体型时,不约而同地都提到了经常参加水上健身操是她们塑造自身体型的秘诀。可见水上健身操对于保持体型优美及重塑体型是非常有效的。近两年内国内也开始了这一健身项目的普及。
