新世纪以来,恐怖惊悚小说作为网络文学中重要的一种类型小说受到了读者的关注和追捧。虽然随着盗墓文学的兴起,恐怖小说呈现出跨界发展趋势,但是国内尚未形成对这一类型文本的学理研究。文章从“崇高”这个美学概念出发,在对前人理论进行系统阐述的基础上,通过与“恐惧”的对比,从审美客体的形式特征、审美内涵、审美心理特征这三方面来具体探讨网络恐怖小说的美学特征与价值所在。
