2013年2月23日,西气东输江如管道泰兴至芙蓉段长江穿越工程,完成直径406 mm管道二级扩孔。管道局穿越公司EPC项目部有关负责人介绍,为顺利完成这项穿越工程,西气东输管道公司与建设方一起,3次邀请国内外著名管道穿越专家进行论证,深入研究江底布缆技术,成功研制出长距离对接穿越钻头等设备。这项工程北起泰兴分输清管站,南至芙蓉分输清管站,沿线经过泰兴、靖江、江阴和武进,全长为54.74 km。其中,长江穿越工程总长4.55 km。
