初次见到莫高翔先生是在2000年的秋季,那时我正在资兴市一中读高二,莫先生带领湖南师大美术学院97级的十几名学生到我就读的高中实习。那时莫先生留着平头,衣着朴素,一件白灰色帆布夹克,一条洗得发白的蓝灰色牛仔裤,配一双回力牌球鞋,怎么看都让人无法把他和画家联系起来。直到一天,学校破天荒地举办了一个艺术讲座,要求所有艺术生去学校多媒体教室听湖南师大莫教授的讲座,我才知道了先前那个衣着打扮像农民一样的中年男人竟是一个画家。
I met Mr. Mo Gao Xiang for the first time in autumn of 2000 when I was studying High School in Zixing. Mr. Mo led a dozen students from Grade 97 at Hunan Normal University to my high school internship. At that time, Mr. Mo had a flat-headdress, a plain, gray-white canvas jacket, a blue-washed gray jeans and a pair of pull-back shoes. It was impossible to see how he could connect with the painter. Until one day, an unprecedented seminar was held in the school to ask all art students to go to the school’s multimedia classroom to listen to a lectures by Hunan Normal University professor Mo. I learned that the former middle-aged man dressed like a farmer was actually an artist.
