老虎头锌铅（银）矿床产于北东—北北东向逆冲推覆断裂上盘的与之配套的次级北东向压扭性断裂（隙）中，断裂承袭了上施组千枚岩与硅质岩－硅质白云岩的“异性”界面；矿化体呈脉状、透镜状断续出现，与围岩界线清晰，具中温热液充填（交代）脉状矿床成因特点。
