外语焦虑不仅是外语学习中的障碍,也是外语教学中的主要干扰因素之一。了解外语教师的焦虑来源、降低焦虑水平,是对外语教学的重要保障。本文试图通过霍维斯(Horwtiz,2008)最新提出的教师外语焦虑量表(TFLAS)、教师学科研究焦虑量表及调查问卷,调查、分析目前我国高校大学英语教师的焦虑现状并解读其焦虑原因。调查表明,焦虑现象在大学英语教师中普遍存在,其中焦虑的主要来源并非是对目标语(英语)的使用,而是来自外语学科研究。
Foreign language anxiety is not only an obstacle in foreign language learning, but also one of the major disturbances in foreign language teaching. To understand the sources of anxiety of foreign language teachers and reduce the level of anxiety is an important guarantee for foreign language teaching. This paper attempts to investigate and analyze the present anxiety status of college English teachers in China and to interpret the causes of anxiety through TFLAS, Teacher Anatomy Anxiety Scale and the latest questionnaire proposed by Horwtiz (2008) . The survey shows that anxiety is prevalent among college English teachers. The main source of anxiety is not the use of target language (English) but the study of foreign languages.
